Varun is from Andhra Pradesh, India. He has a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering. After a short stint in the IT sector, he worked for more than five years in the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India with postings in New Delhi and the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York City. During the course of his PhD, he hopes to understand the relationship between political economy and culture with a focus on literature and cinema.
