Tyler Larson

Tyler Larson holds a bachelor's degree in Global Studies and Spanish from Winona State University. Tyler joined the Peace Corps and served as a Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Specialist in a remote community in Panama. After being evacuated in March of 2020, he worked alongside community organizers to spread awareness about Amnesty International campaigns. He was then able to work a contract with the Office of Refugee Resettlement, providing support services to unaccompanied minors who migrated to the United States. This led him to work with a non-profit in Tacoma and earn his accreditation from the Department of Justice to provide legal assistance to immigrants and refugees in the Puget Sound area. He was drawn toward a career of public service at an early age through a mentor who provided the opportunity to work on public health and water purification projects in Cuba. Tyler is excited to join the Humphrey School and broaden his knowledge and skills, and explore the intersection between sustainable development, public health, and migration.
