Maria Isabel Rikkers DeBorst is a PhD student in the department of Sociology. She holds a bachleors degree in Sociology from the National University of Colombia. She has conducted research on criminalization of youth and community resistance to this phenomenon in San Salvador, on legitimation of authoritarian regimes, and on militarism in Colombia.
