Lobna is a legal and protection practitioner working with UN agencies and NGOs on refugee protection, refugee status determination (RSD), and displacement. Her work has focused on supporting asylum seekers and refugees through protection case management and legal assistance, particularly for survivors of gender-based violence and children at risk. Her academic interests examine how colonial legacies continue to shape forced migration and humanitarian systems, as well as the social and economic relationships between displaced populations and host communities. Through her studies in Development Practice, she hopes to explore inclusive, community-centered approaches that strengthen social cohesion and advance equitable development for both displaced and host populations.
