Khoi Nguyen received a M.A. in Women’s Studies focusing on queer Asian American literature at Southern Connecticut State University and B.A. in English at Fairfield University. Khoi previously taught Asian American Studies at the College of Ethnic Studies, San Francisco State University. Khoi's research will trace the genealogy of the queer refugee in the U.S. post-1975 to have a better understanding of the state forms of border surveillance. Their project wishes to address the lack of engagement with issues of U.S. militarization and globalization in current queer refugee scholarships. They received the Southeast Asian Archive Anne Frank Visiting Researcher Award at UC Irvine (2017), and will be visiting other immigration and queer archives.
