Khadra Mohamed is a Master of Development Practice student at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs. Originally from Kenya and raised in Kentucky, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Berea College before serving for two years as a Peace Corps Education Volunteer in Zanzibar, Tanzania. During her service, she taught biology and chemistry and led community-based initiatives focused on education, sanitation, menstrual health, and access to technology. Her academic and professional interests center on global health, health equity, and the ways policy and community-based development can strengthen health systems and improve outcomes in underserved communities. She is particularly interested in interdisciplinary approaches that connect health, education, development, and locally driven solutions across the Global South.
