Vishal Jamkar did his bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, India. After a brief stint in the corporate sector, he joined an Indian nonprofit, PRADAN, working in various capacities ranging from a community organizer to an advisor to the Government of India. For over a decade, he worked with Dalit and Adivasi communities in Central India on issues of livelihoods, governance, and social justice. He completed his Master’s in Development Practice and will be continuing his doctoral studies from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. His research interests lie at the intersection of Public Policy Analysis, Caste Discrimination in India, and Critical Race studies. In his free time, Vishal likes to follow politics, cook, and explore different cultures.
