Diksha Shriyan

I am a doctoral candidate at the University of Minnesota's Department of Geography, Environment & Society. My research interests focus on labourers on the move and the various ways that they are made mobile. My PhD project would investigate the politics, practices, and lived experiences of such mobile labor/ers within the Indian context. Prior to joining UMN, I worked as a researcher and development practitioner with various organisations across India for over 5 years with publications in the field of labor migration, women's work, and feminist solidarity. I hold master's degrees in Development Studies from SOAS, University of London, and in Gender Studies from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad, and a bachelor's degree in Economics from Stella Maris College, Chennai.
