I was born and raised in the Twin Cities and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a certificate in global health from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During my time at UW-Madison, I was a Division I collegiate basketball player and spent the first two years of my post-graduate life playing professional European basketball. After retiring from basketball, I began my nursing career, and have worked the last 10 years in acute hospital environments. I look forward to the MDP program to achieve a deeper understanding of the complicated nexus that influences health, both locally and globally. I hope to gain knowledge and skills that might equip me to effectively tackle the iniquitous upstream determinants of health. My areas of interest include public health, program development and evaluation, and the intersection of sport and development.
