Rachel received a bachelor’s in molecular biology from Princeton University and a master’s of science in Global Health from Karolinska Institutet in Sweden. Her master's thesis assessed how stakeholders' knowledge and perceptions of a results-based financing program in the Zambian health sector impacted implementation. For her doctoral research, Rachel is interested in examining the inherent imperialism rooted in the international development sector and better understanding international solidarity movements. Prior to starting her Ph.D. program in Sociology, she worked for five years in Washington D.C. There she co-founded the Web Integrity Project, a government accountability program within the Sunlight Foundation that monitored federal websites for changes in access to public information. Rachel was also a health policy fellow at the Bank Information Center, where she monitored World Bank projects for how well they committed to and implemented stakeholder engagement.
