Roundtable: Graduate Research in a Global Pandemic

Moderated by Vivian Wauters, PhD Candidate, Horticultural Science and Anuradha Sajjanhar, PhD Candidate in Sociology

What does it mean to be a graduate student in the midst of a global pandemic? Are we all diligently writing epistles as the world changes around us, or is there more going on? What does the pandemic mean in the broader contexts of our lives, as researchers, colleagues, collaborators, friends, partners, and family? What does it mean for us to be responsible to ourselves, and for our institutions to be responsible to us?

Please join us for an interactive conversation about these questions and more. Anuradha Sajjanhar, PhD candidate in Sociology, and  Vivian Wauters, PhD candidate in Applied Plant Science, will talk about some of the ways that they are adapting and responding to the COVID-19 crisis in relation to their research, field work, and communities to whom they are responsible, and we’d love to hear your thoughts, collectively address questions, and draw upon our collective wisdom.
