The 2026 ICGC Scholars, the 38th cohort, had orientation the first week of September and will be formally welcomed into the community on Friday, September 11 at the Annual ICGC Fall Welcome Dinner.

The seven new scholars—each from different departments within three colleges and schools at the UMN—come from countries including El Salvador, Ghana, Liberia, Palestine, and the United States. We will also welcome a Interdisciplinary Doctoral Fellow to be in residence with ICGC during the 2026-27 academic year, and three visiting scholars. We are excited to bring their energy, knowledge and voices for issues of social justice and global change to the University of Minnesota.
