Fatemeh Nasr-Esfahani

Fatemeh Nasr-Esfahani is a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in Feminist Studies in the Department of Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies, with a graduate minor in Moving Image, Media, and Sound. Her research explores the intersections of humor studies, transnational feminism, and film theory, particularly on how women comedians in Iran, her home country, use comedy as a tool for feminist intervention, activism, and social change.

Fatemeh is currently the ICGC Research Assistant for Fall 2025 and is excited about the opportunity to engage with and collaborate across the ICGC community.
