Ryan Gavin is a PhD student in the School of Public Health’s environmental epidemiology training program. He is working with researchers at the University of Minnesota and the World Health Organization to more directly quantify the health effects of climate change, especially as they relate to ecosystem change and water. Prior to starting his PhD, he received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resource Sciences, where his research focused on closing yield gaps through cropping system modernization in East Africa.
